The Peace of Wild Things

An ability to pay attention is something we are losing, but nature can be our ally in cultivating it again.

Looking closely at an unfurling leaf, a flower petal or a squirrel’s tail requires stopping; for 1 minute, 5 minutes, for 15 minutes or more. Spending (even a little) time each day learning to be conscious of beauty, is transformative; it reduces stress hormones and lowers the heart rate. We all know this and yet it’s so easy to dismiss - these images are a small reminder.
